After years of relying on massage therapy to keep her “in the game”, Andrea decided to leave a career in IT to follow her passion and become a Registered Massage Therapist. She graduated from Wellington College in 2016 and since then has worked in fitness facilities as well as started a home-based practice. Andrea started with River Rock in 2023 when she moved to the Interlake.
To better serve her clients, she has taken supplementary training in a number of areas including acupuncture, cupping, TMJ (jaw) dysfunction, breast massage, CranioSacral Therapy and Trauma-Informed Care. Andrea loves problem-solving and working with people to help them improve their health and recover from injuries. She also understands the significant benefits that come from the relaxation aspects of massage therapy and enjoys being able to provide both of these to her clients.
Andrea has competed in many sports over the years, including soccer, biathlon, bodybuilding, long distance running and as a result has direct experience with many sports-related injuries. She also served in the army reserves for many years and has a unique understanding of the many physical and mental challenges posed by doing front-line work. Because of this background she has taken a keen interest in working with people dealing with PTSD as well as concussions and other brain injuries.
In addition to massage, Andrea also offers acupuncture, cupping and paraffin wax treatments.
